DESCRIPTION: Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing was one of the headline entries of the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours. The #3 Mercedes-AMG GT3, fielded with Winward Racing and supported by Red Bull and Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, brought Max Verstappen to his first 24h Nürburgring start alongside Dani Juncadella, Jules Gounon and Lucas Auer. The car had genuine winning pace from the beginning, qualifying near the front and spending long parts of the race in direct victory contention. For many hours, the #3 Mercedes-AMG GT3 looked like it could turn Verstappen’s long-awaited Nordschleife debut into a historic overall win. Verstappen’s stints became one of the main talking points of the race, with the car leading and fighting closely with the sister Mercedes-AMG Team RAVENOL entry. But with just a few hours remaining, a driveshaft problem forced the team into the garage and ended the fight for victory. The car was repaired and returned to the track, but the lost time dropped it to P36 overall and P18 in SP9. With a best lap of 8:12.818 and an average speed of 142.211 kph, the final result does not fully show how strong this entry was. It was a race of speed, attention, disappointment and unfinished business.
